The morning ritual is more of a madcap chase with concealer and mascara and then walking out into the world. More recently, though, there has been an upward trend in the United States towards radical authenticity and skin minimalism. The curiosity had eventually prevailed after viewing so many celebrities’ raw selfies on the internet. It was like a social experiment to walk out of the door with an entirely bare face, and the resultant journey was an eye-opener indeed.
Work Meetings And Professionalism

The challenge of sitting through a video conference with no filter or foundation was an important challenge. To my surprise, co-workers appeared to be more concerned about the ideas we discussed as opposed to the dark circles beneath my weary eyes.
Skin Finally Getting Air

On the third day, my skin appeared to be delighted with no heavy products on my face. A temporary pause may be recommended by some dermatologists so that the skin barrier could have a chance to reset itself.
The Coffee Shop Interaction

The barista at my regular place of business actually appeared to be more active in a conversation than ever before. It got me thinking whether a bare face could perhaps help a person look more friendly and sincere.
Family Noticing The Change

The feedback during the visit with relatives was surprisingly sweet and health-oriented. They said there was some light in my face, which perhaps it was because there were no matte powders and creams.
Saving Time In The Morning

Winning those twenty minutes in the morning was such a big victory in my mind. The additional time to literally stop and have a cup of coffee shifted the whole mood of my day.
The Mirror Reflection Shift

It seemed that towards the middle of the week, my own appearance started to shift. I began to notice things that I liked instead of merely concentrating on the imperfections that I tend to conceal.
Evening Routine Simplified

I found it so easy to prepare to go to sleep without having to use any extra cleansing and makeup removers. My evening routine became a lot more of a real-life self-care rather than an obligation to follow.
Sensitivity To Bright Lights

Having lost the customary cover of protection, I was more conscious of the surrounding world. It was a very slight change, which made me be more attentive to hydration and avoiding the sun.
Long-Term Habit Changes

Going forward, it is hoped that there will be a compromise between having fun with products and not feeling bad without them. This experience could potentially result in a less serious and more confident attitude to beauty.
